Install NX1
NX1 runs as a browser extension on desktop and as a web app on mobile. Pick your path – or just take the one we already suggested for you on the home page.
Desktop: Chrome, Edge, Brave & Opera
The full NX1 extension replaces your new tab page – with all your start pages, search and personalization. Recommended for every Chromium browser on a computer.
- Open this page on a computer in Chrome, Edge, Brave or Opera.
- Click “Add to Chrome” and confirm the install.
- Open a new tab – NX1 is right there.
iPhone, iPad & Android
Phones don’t support browser extensions. Instead NX1 runs as a web app that you can add to your home screen like a real app.
- Open the web app in your phone browser – Safari on iPhone/iPad, Chrome on Android.
- iPhone/iPad: tap “Share” at the bottom and choose “Add to Home Screen”.
- Android: open the menu (⋮) and choose “Install app” or “Add to Home screen”.
- NX1 then launches full-screen like its own app.
Safari & Firefox on desktop
Safari and Firefox don’t support the extension (yet). You can still set NX1 as your homepage so it opens with every new window.
- Safari: Settings → General → set Homepage to start.nx1-app.com and choose “New windows/tabs open with: Homepage”.
- Firefox: Settings → Home → set “Homepage and new windows” to “Custom URLs” and enter start.nx1-app.com.
- Tip: in Chrome and Edge you can also install the web app as its own window via the icon in the address bar.
